Tucked in the heart of Black River Falls, Creekside Winery is more than just a place to enjoy wine—it’s a reflection of our story, our roots, and a new chapter we’re proud to begin.

For Madelyn, this journey feels like coming home. She grew up right here in Black River Falls, where her interest in winemaking started early, watching her dad make wine from cranberries and cherries. What began as curiosity slowly turned into a lifelong passion.

Over the years, that passion took her across vineyards and wineries in the U.S., Argentina, and Chile, learning every step of the process from the ground up. She later earned her degree in Viticulture & Enology from Washington State University and became a winemaker at the WSU Wine Science Center, where she led research winemaking efforts and worked closely with faculty and students. Her work focused on quality, precision, and understanding every detail—from fermentation to bottling.

Madelyn brings a unique balance of science and intuition to her wines, but more importantly, she believes wine is about connection—creating something that brings people together and makes moments feel special.

That belief is at the heart of Creekside.

Gustavo’s path into this space comes from a different background. Originally from Chile, he is a runner and has worked in physical therapy, with a strong focus on movement and performance. This new chapter with Creekside represents a meaningful shift—an opportunity to build something together as a family.

While supporting the overall vision, Gustavo also leads the kitchen, inspired by his travels through Europe where he fell in love with the craft of pizza making—the simplicity, the technique, and the experience of sharing food.

Madelyn and Gustavo are married and have built a beautiful family of two, and Creekside is an extension of that—something they care deeply about and are excited to share with the community.

Together, they are creating a space that feels welcoming, simple, and real—where great wine, good food, and genuine connection come together.
